Open maintained seeds adapted for small scale organic practices are key for a sustainable agroecology. Open seed work is done as part of Nybrukarna for Nordfrö. More seeds to come under 2022.
Cascade Ruby Gold (Zea mays): Flint corn developed by Carol Deppe, early, three different colors with different uses but I mostly mix them for bread.
Ölands lantvete (Triticum aestivum): spring wheat, Swedish historical landrace.
Akaguri (Cucurbita maxima): Smallish Hokkaido winter squash that produces and keeps well without troubles even with shorter summers.
Amish Paste (Solanum lycopersicum): Pasta tomate from Carol Deppe.
De Cayenne (Capsicum Annuum): Medium-strong chili for making chili sauce and chili powder.
Gotländsk gråärt (Pisum sativum): field pie with blue pods, dry harvest, we used them for falafel instead than chickpeas.
Oves lilla svarta (Phaseolus vulgaris) : small black bean early maturing for dry harvest.
Sunflower Peredovick (Helianthus annuus): Tall and classic sunflower for oil seed production.
Agastache foeniculum: One of my favorites herbs both for pollinators and for herbal tea.
